The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The program teaches how to get started with a business, working with parents and children, and key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. CPR Metro provides child and babysitting safety (cabs) directly at your workplace, school, or community center in Alexandria, VA. Our classes are taught by certified instructors and include all training equipment - manikins, AED trainers, and course materials. Participants receive same-day AHA/HSI certification upon successful completion. We offer flexible scheduling with evening and weekend options, and competitive group rates for teams of any size.

Do you come to our location in Alexandria?
Yes. We bring manikins, AED trainers, and all course materials to your site in Alexandria. All we need is an open floor area, power for a projector/AED trainer, and a nearby restroom.
How many people can attend?
We regularly train small teams of 6–12 and groups up to 25 in a single block. Larger groups are fine—we run rotations so everyone practices correctly.
What ages is CABS for?
Typically ages 11–15. We adjust pacing and scenarios to the group. Parents are welcome to attend the final review.
How do I handle choking in infants and children?
For infants: 5 back slaps then 5 chest thrusts. For children: abdominal thrusts. If unresponsive, begin CPR and check the airway for an object before breaths.
Safe sleep basics?
Follow the ABCs—Alone, on the Back, in a Crib. Use a firm mattress with no loose blankets, pillows, or toys.
